Some of the basic work rights we take for granted — weekends, the 40-hour workweek, lunch breaks — were hard-won and took years to achieve.  Many California employers continue to steal their employees’ pay, deny them breaks, and other workplace protections. 

Sixty years since the first civil rights laws were passed, many California employees face harassment or discrimination at work.
